I've spent more than 15 years building software, working on products for companies like William Hill, Kroger, and Science 37 before eventually setting out on my own.

Along the way, I saw a gap: expert witnesses were running their practices with a mix of spreadsheets, accounting software, and tools designed for law firms — not for the experts themselves. So I built ExpertPractice.

I'm not an expert witness. I'm a software developer — and I think that's an important distinction.

No two expert practices work exactly the same way. Different specialties, different clients, different billing arrangements, and different ways of managing cases. Building software around the way one expert works is one thing. Building software that works across many different expert practices means listening to the people actually doing the work.

That's why I talk regularly with experts using ExpertPractice every day.

That's still how I build ExpertPractice today. Features aren't based on assumptions about how experts should work. They come from seeing how different experts actually work, finding the problems they have in common, and building solutions flexible enough to fit their practices.

ExpertPractice will keep evolving because those conversations don't stop. Every new expert brings a different practice, a different workflow, and often a new idea. Those ideas don't disappear into a suggestion box — they help shape what ExpertPractice becomes for everyone who uses it.
